Riley is just one of those names I absolutely hate, sorry. It's so incredibly overused, boring and trendy.

Sorry but I detest Riley. It's so trendy and flimsy, and when paired with 50s Ray, it just seems out of sync. Riley Joshua is the better combo, just be aware that it will date.

I'm glad we're talking boys, I don't care for this as a girl's name. I like the more unusual spelling, and I would definitely go with Joshua, given just these two choices of Ray or Joshua. For myself, I would probably do Reilly Riordan.

I like the name Riley - although Riley has been used mostly for girls around my area, I still think it's cute for a boy. As a matter of fact, a friend of mine has two brothers, called Riley and Regan.

I think that Riley is a great name for a boy!

Both combos are great, but my vote goes to Riley Ray.

There is nothing wrong with naming a boy Riley, but if you are in the USA you should know that Riley is now twice as common for girls as it is for boys. So an American boy named Riley will have to be supported when he is teased about having a "girl's name."

Personally I would prefer Joshua as a middle name to Ray, because Riley Ray would too easily be heard as "Riley Rae" and so sound even more like a girls' name to many.

Riley is a good name.
If I had to pick from your two I'd say Riley Ray, because it flows better imo. If I'm allowed some liberty with the names I'd say: Riley Josh
