I've heard it's pronounced as AY-ra or EYE-ra, and not like era (assuming you're using the Welsh name). I do love it as EYE-ra, though, and that's how I pronounce it when I look at it.
As for how you pronounce it, I'd think it'd be nice with some of these middle names:
Eira Felicity
Eira Josephine
Eira Magdaline
Eira Gwendolen (running off a Welsh theme)
Eira Clementine
Eira Natalie
Eira June
Eira Miriam
My suggestions would be to avoid middle names with an "AIR" sound (Mary, Caroline), two syllables (Eva, Julie) and starting OR ending with a soft "a" (Amelia, Maria). Good luck!
