[Surname] Anyone for Murgatroyd?
I've noticed Murgatroyd in Juliet Barker's biography of the Brontes. I've known about it, but never known a real person with the name.
Is it typically or originally Yorkshire? And what is its etymology, apart from impenetrable and fascinating?
