Andrew Michael Collins was the father of one of Kahlan's best friends, Rachel Collins. The friend wanted to name her kid after her dad, but recently found out that she can't have kids of her own, so Kahlan and Gideon agreed to honor him with their son's name and make Rachel the godmother.
