[Opinions] BA - of sorts
Arvid and Ruth gave birth to their first child today (31 years ago) and they named her (me) Jodi Rae, a name they apparently agreed on after a short discussion on their honeymoon, two years before I was born. It was between Jodi and Josie. And then between hyphenated or not.
So what do you think of the name Jodi Rae?
(Don't worry, I won't take it personally since clearly it is neither my fault nor to my credit.)
Do you prefer Jodi Rae or Josie Rae?
Do you prefer Jodi Rae or Jodi-Rae? (As a kid, I really wanted it to be hyphenated.)

Happy birthday!! :) ok, yesterday, but still. Hopefully it was a good day:)
So what do you think of the name Jodi Rae?
I quite honestly think it is perfectly fine, normal, and nice;) nothing terrible to my ears like Deborah or Martha ( sorry Bee123). I used yo hate the name Rae for a girl. Now my father in laws middle name is Ray, and he is the sweetest person I know, so if I ever had a girl, I would actually quite like to use the middle name Rae for her, but J is absolutely not going for it:)
Do you prefer Jodi Rae or Josie Rae?
Mmmm...I don't like Josie, honestly. I think Jodi sounds spunkier.

No hyphens:)

Happy 31st.
I like the name Jody, and Jodi is good. My image of Jodi comes from a person I went to high school with who was really striking and smart.
I've never been a fan of Rae as a middle name - it's alright, it's just not my style. I don't think the hyphen is a good idea. Josie Rae runs together less than Jodi Rae does, but Josie is weaker than Jodi and I like it a little less.

Jodi Rae is jauntier than Josie Rae. On the other hand, I prefer Josie to Jodi. I would have chosen Josie Rae but would have chosen Josiane Rachel in order to get to it.
Ooo, Josiane Rachel nn Josie Rae is positively delightful!
Happy birthday! It's nms, but it's short and neat and cheerful, & I prefer it to Josie as a full name. Not keen on hyphens.
Thanks! :) It was a nice day.
I don't really like Jodi or Jodie. There is something about it that is just boring and is in the same realm as Deanna and Brenda. I never remember the names of people who introduce themselves with those names. I guess that means the are forgettable?
I don't really like Rae because to me its entirely masculine, though I do see that the Rae spelling appears more feminine I still hear it and think of a skinny male car mechanic. Don't as why.
I prefer Josie Rae, although it is cutesy. It would be better as Josephine Rae "Josie."
I don't like double barelled names, hyphenated or not so really I can't have a preference there.

If I'd married your dad, I'd have held out for Josephine Rachael! Jodi appeals to me less than Josie, especially since there was a F1 racing driver called Jodie in South Africa some years ago, so Jodi has a male aura for me. And the Rae adds to the issue by sounding like the Afrikaans for ... well, 'drive', but if you yell it out during a motor race, it has the effect of 'Ride 'im, cowboy!'
I don't enjoy capital letters in the middle of names. Rather Rosemary than RoseMary, for instance. So I'd have used Jodi-Rae.

It's not really my style, but I'm sure you wear it well.

I remember really liking Jodi as a child. I collected some Barbie-esque kind of dolls with horses, and I think the two kinds of them (older and younger girl) were called Katie and Jodi? It's not a name I have thought about a lot since I stopped played with those dolls but I guess I still like it, sort of. Not as keen on Rae, it's dull.
I prefer Jodi Rae, it's not as cutesy as Josie. Can't decide if it looks better hyphenated or not.

That's interesting that you find Rae dull, because I've always thought Rae was the cool part of my name. I've met a number of Jodi/Jodie/Jody's but never a Rae.
Well, I don't care for hyphenated names, so Jodi Rae is my preference. I don't really like Josie either.
I think Jodi Rae is fairly cute.
