I think Alessandra is gorgeous, and reducing the likelihood of the nickname Lexi (which I hate) is just an added bonus. I love Alessa and Alessia too.

I love most forms of Alexander/Alexandra, and Alessandra is no exception. It is a lovely name.

Not really a name I would personally choose. It is just lacking something imo. Liliana is sooooo much nicer! ;)

I don't like it much. It sounds just like Alexandra, except a 2 year old who has a lisp, saying it.
And I don't like Alexandra at all, either.

I love how exotic and feminine Alessandra is. I once saw program about different restaurants and one owner was named Alessandra but called Aless which is something I'd never heard before. Really nice.

IMO, it works if you're Italian or have Italian heritage. If not...just Alexandra. :)

I think its over-necessarily hissy. I love Alexandra, I just think in England, without any heritage which would make you more likely to turn to Alessandra rather than Alexandra, I generally just think it's not needed.

I would be happyto see one. Lessa is a lovely nickname. When I was in middle school Alessandra was my all time favorite.

I like it, but I prefer the less fussy Alexandra. Alessandra is beautiful though and has lots of nickname options.

Alessandra is a name I'm constantly going to in the middle name spot. I just really like it there for some reason. It would, of course, make a fine first name, it's just too flowery for me in that spot. Lots of nickname options, though, if she doesn't love the girliness of it. Al, Ali, Lissa, Lissi, Essie, Essa, Sandy, Sandra, Andi, Andra. Wow, yeah, the options are more endless than I even thought.

Love it. I think it's elegant and very beautiful. Plus, it neatly precludes Lexi, my least favorite Alexandra nickname.

I love it! It's a whole lot better than Alexandra/Alexandria.

Its sounds lispy to me, or somewhat whiney. I prefer Alexandra.
