I like them both. I don't think Evander is too out there, but I'll admit it still makes me think of Holyfield and the whole disturbing ear drama. Otherwise though, I think it's nice, uncommon but not unheard of...he could always fall back on plain old Evan if he thought Evander to be too much.
Blake was my great uncle's name, and since he'd be well into his eighties now (RIP, Uncle Blake), I don't see it as trendy at all, nor do I see it as preppy, since he was not that at all. He was handsome and gregarious, so that's how I see the name.
