These parents think their kids are pets.

Ow.
George is nms, but at least normal, and Betsy and Winifred are acceptable. Biggles and Tuppence are horrible and Posie sounds dumb.

It is a sad day when Posie is the best in a sib set.

Well, Biggles makes me think of this: My stepmother's name was Melinda, but she went by Biggs. Everyone save her parents and one other person called her this. It was a nickname based upon her maiden surname. Her parents were the only ones who called her Melinda and the only other person who didn't call her Biggs was her mother-in-law, the mother of her deceased first husband. She called her Biggie. Biggs, although she preferred to be called Biggs and not Melinda, hated to be called Biggie, but her mother-in-law always persisted in it. It was a real-life version of the tired old joke in which the mother-in-law can't or won't get the name right, a la Endora in "Bewitched" always calling Darren Derwood or some variation, but never Darrin, and a la Lucy's mother in "I Love Lucy" always calling Ricky Micky.I wonder how Biggs would have like Biggles? It's worse than Biggie, in my opinion.

I want to laugh, but I just feel so sorry for these children. Not Posie so much, but Biggles and Tuppence? :-/

Haha, I remember this sibset. I posted it in a set of BAs a while ago: http://www.behindthename.com/bb/baby/4415569 :)If they really had to use Biggles and Posie, I wish they'd used them as the middle names. George and Betsy or George and Winifred would have been quite nice. I wonder what Tuppence's middle names are!

Maybe the parents are "unstable" and those children are actually cats.On a positive note, I do enjoy Betsy Winifred and George.

There was a character nicknamed Tuppence in a couple of lesser-known Agatha Christie books. Had a husband called Tommy. Literary pedigree, therefore, or subliterary anyway.Biggles was the very gung-ho hero of numerous boys' books back in the 1920s and onwards. A pilot, went around zapping the bad guys and flying off triumphantly into the sunset. Very unsophisticated by today's standards - reading them now is like time travel. Also very prejudiced towards anyone with a native language other than English, and indeed to any "natives"! Posie happens. There was a somewhat feminist cartoonist on the Guardian called Posie Simmonds or something (too lazy to look it up). Usually a nn for a Rose name. Connected to Kew, perhaps?!So, nmsaa but one can see where they're coming from.

I'd forgotten about Tommy and Tuppence! Nevertheless, 'Tuppence' was the character's nickname. Her real name was Prudence. (I don't know why/how that was her nickname.)

Didn't some actress call herself Tuesday rather than Susan? Similar sounds, and a more familiar word. Or, I could see a particular kind of family naming the first daughter Penelope and then the second (anything from Amy to Zoe) might become Tuppence as a natural progression.More realistically, the parents of Biggles and Posie have proved their affection for nicknames used as full names ... perhaps little Biggles was lucky to escape with a mere literary lnfn!

Oh..... my. gosh. Literally speechless is right. Posie Betsy Winifred isn't utterly horrible, Posie is too cutesie to me, but at least it means 'flower' and Betsy and Winifred are real names. I predict she will go by Winifred when she's an adult, *maybe* Betsy. Biggles George Fittleworth sounds like a freakin' pet name. Like, for a cat or dog. At least he has a good middle name, but Biggles?!?! He will be changing his name legally when he's older, that much is sure. Because even with George to go by, who wants to admit his first initial in "B. George F. Jackson-Kew" stands for Biggles?!?! No grown man in the history of ever. And Fittleworth sounds like a character in a Dickens novel, or possibly a British cartoon character or something of that sort. -_____- So, if his parents don't do it while he is still a child, he will definitely be changing his name to Benjamin or Benedict or Bruce or something else decent that starts with B. He could (or they should) change the Fittleworth to Francis or Frederick or something else decent that starts with F. Benjamin George Francis or Benjamin George Frederick actually sound rather nice.
As for Tuppence, what the freakin' heck?! Two pence??? Did they like it because it sounds "cute" and reminded them of Patience (same ending sound)?? Just ugh. Let's hope she (I'm assuming Tuppence is a girl) has a decent middle name or two to go by like Posie does. I can just hear the teasing: hey, are your sisters named Ha'Penny and Thruppence? -_____- Terrible.

I missed FITTLEWORTH. HAAA HAAAA HAAA, pause, HAAA HAAA HAAA and more HAAA.
In Sweden he would be bullied mercilessly, poor guy. "Fittleworth" sounds like "warts in your p***y" in Swedish!I wish his name was Fritz Frederick Fitzwilliam Fittleworth, it's even better.
And for his sisters...hmmm...let's see...Primrose Prudella Periwinkle and Winifred Wendolyn Warthog.

Omg. Seriously? I suppose Posie isn't the worst I've heard, but Biggles and Tuppence definitely rank in the top ten of worst names I've heard lately. Poor kids.
