Can anyone tell me something about the surname Maschik ?

The name Maschik was not found in the surname databases I checked. Names that sound similar to Maschik are: Macek - Czech, Majewski - Polish, Masek - Czech, Miazga - Polish, Myska - Czech. It is likely Maschik came from one of these. I'd go with a Slavic language board. The -chik is usually a diminutive in Slavic (mostly Czech or Serbian) meaning "son of" or "descended from" etc.

Maschik is a variant of German Maschek which is also found in Austria. It's an adaptation of Polish Maszek which is derived from Tomasz 'Thomas'.
