Sofia -- Is this pronounced with the short or long i in the UK? I know at one time, it had the long i pronunciation, however, I'm not sure what the current practice is.

Several I dislike:

Ayvah -- Why???
Daisy Olive -- too descriptive
Tilly May -- so precious

I've only ever heard Sofia and Sophia as So-fee-a, although I've heard it in a song as So-fie-a.

I assumed Sophia / Sofia was pronounced with the short i sound, however, I've come across it and Maria before being pronounced with the long i sound in the UK and was curious.

Yes, I think those pronunciations are both obsolete here now.
