[Opinions] Minerva
What are your thoughts on this name? I like it because of the HP association (while we're at it, what are your thoughts on Ginevra?) and I also like the meaning. I'm really liking it as a mn for Juliet. Juliet Minerva. WDYT?

I am reading Harry Potter at the moment so I did immediately think of Minerva McGonagall, but it also reminds me of the Roman goddess of wisdom. All in all great associations. I love the nickname Min. Juliet Minerva is very nice, although I think I'd turn the combo around (Minerva Juliet).
I'm not keen on the name Ginevra although I can't pinpoint why.

I love the "intellect" meaning, but I really don't love that erv sound. It does makes a cool mn, though, and Juliet Minerva is great. Juliet needs a mn with a little starch to it, and Minerva delivers.
I prefer Ginevra by far. Beautiful name.

I'm not a huge fan, but I like Minerva (Ginevra, not so much). The Harry Potter association doesn't do much for me.
But I do think the goddess Minerva is a cool namesake. I think as far as first names go, Minerva is prettier than Athena (just my opinion). I especially like the nickname Minnie.
I think it'd make a great middle name. Juliet Minerva is lovely.

I love it. I like the Harry Potter reference and I think it seems like a strong, yet feminine, name. However, I dislike the nicknames especially Minnie.
Juliet Minerva is GORGEOUS! Juliet is one of my favourites but I find it hard to match with middle names - Minerva is perfect! I love it.
I also like Ginevra, very pretty.

It's probably my top overall name of all time, though I'm not super into it the past few years. If I were pregnant it would definitely be on the list. Juliet Minerva is really nice - adore it.
I like both Minerva and Ginevra, but I realize that for some people they're both too HP to be used. I found a Minerva while working on my family tree, and with my ln. That makes it more usable to me.
A great name for a wyvern in Fire Emblem. Minerva is pretty interesting in a good way for me.
Wow, you just made me fall in love with Juliet Minerva. That would be such a wonderful, brilliant name.
I also like Minerva because of hp, but I'd never use it as a first name. It's not really my style, and sounds kind of old-lady. It's a cool name though. I like Ginevra less, and again wouldn't use it as a first name.

I like Minerva as well, also because of the HP association. I think Minerva nn Minnie is adorable, and I love Juliet Minerva. Very pretty. I also like Ginevra, but I would really need a nn for it and I don't like Ginny.
I like it. I think it sounds older and more mature than Artemis, although it has a more feminine sound to the Anglo ear. (Maybe I think it's more mature because of McGonagall? But I might have thought that before I read HP, so idk.)
I like Ginevra too, although I'm not a fan of Ginny. I also never know whether to say gin-ee-vra or gin-ev-ra.
Juliet Minerva is good. It's not a combo I would have made because I tend to put Juliet and Minerva in two different "age groups" in my head (Juliet being teenage and Minerva being older/mature), but the combo fits together really well.
I had a kitten named Minerva "Minnie" for a while. She had markings that looked a bit like McGonagall's glasses :P
For a human I like the nickname "Min", but not "Minnie" as much.
Some random combos:
Minerva Ivy, Minerva Anne, Minerva Rowan, Minerva Willow, Minerva Hathor, Minerva Branwen, Minerva Thalia, Minerva Ophelie, Minerva Joan, Minerva Christabel, Minerva Elowen, Minerva Eleanor, Minerva Rhiannon, Minerva Hermione, Minerva Elanor, Minerva Laurel, Minerva Eglantine, Minerva Judith, Minerva Winter, Minerva Selene, Minerva Celeste, Minerva Serene, Minerva Ember, Minerva Calliope, Minerva Cassandra, Minerva Cassiopeia, Minerva Bethan, Minerva Violet, Minerva Shireen, Minerva Olwen, Minerva Kestrel, Minerva Igraine, Minerva Egwene, Minerva Ianthe, Minerva Persephone, Minerva Hellene, Minerva Lysandra, Minerva Lorelei, Minerva Vivien

I think I only like the HP associations, too, and I guess it's cool that it's another name for the Greek goddess of wisdom, that's not too shabby, but on it's own...I don't think it's very pretty.
I'd probably stick with Mina, Minette or Vera (NOT Minnie) instead.
Same goes for Ginevra. It's sort of neat because it's different and I like the ending sound, but it's unattractive-sounding at the same time. And I'm not a big fan of Ginny. I think it's more usable than Minerva, though.
I'd go with Jenna, Giulia/Giluanna, Liv, Eve/Eva or Vera again. Or maybe even Niamh.
