Originally from Australia, Arthur moved to Denmark to go to university and there he fell in love with Rosa - a Danish-Scottish student two years his senior. The pair married aged 21 and 23 and have bought a house in Rosa's home town in beautiful Danish countryside.

Year1: While working in Libya trying to support young families and communities worst affected by the civil war, Arthur rescues a five year old girl from the rubble of what was once her home, it soon becomes apparent that the rest of her family is dead and this child has nothing. Arthur's heart goes out to this child, he's on the phone to Rosa almost immediately and she hops on the next flight down to Libya to meet the little girl. Falling in love with the child, Rosa insists that they begin legal proceedings to take her home to Denmark, and although it isn't easy, the young couple fight for six months - remaining in Libya the entire time - until the child can return home with them. Her birth name is Tajeddigt, but was known as Taj, Rosa and Arthur decide to move Tajeddigt to the middle name place and give her a name more easily pronouncable for the records. Their new daughter's name is Nessa Tajeddigt McGee but she continues to be called Taj at home and school. Taj has wavy black hair and dark brown eyes.

Year2: To celebrate the year anniversary of adopting Taj, Arthur and Rosa take a ten day break to the Waimea Bay Beach Park, Hawaii.

Year3: Rosa and Arthur would love a baby of their own after growing as parents to Taj, however they are worried that it may disrupt their daughter, but when they mention it to her she is overjoyed at the prospect. Rosa gets pregnant soon after Arthur and her start trying; nine months later the family welcome a beautiful girl with straight black hair and hazel eyes. Her name is Ramona Grace McGee.

Year4: Although Arthur keeps in touch with his family via the internet, his parents want to meet their new grandchild in the flesh, and so the McGee family make plans to travel to Australia to visit Arthur's parents. While there Arthur gets a lovely surprise when his brothers turn up with their respective families. It's a family reunion to remember with lots of laughs and tears when it is time to leave!

Year5: The McGee family take a brief five day holiday to Libya to allow Taj time to reconnect with her heritage. It is still not a safe place so Rosa stays with the baby in the hotel for the majority of the time while Arthur takes his adopted daughter around her old town.

Year6: Taj is developing so much as her own person, Arthur and Rosa are so proud of her, she has recently taken an interest in horse-riding. At first neither mum nor dad are overjoyed at the prospect of owning a horse (they take so much work, you know!) but after thinking about, Arthur and Rosa agree that buying a horse would be a good investment not just for Taj, but Mona as well. After several weeks of looking, the family buy a beautiful white and brown Pinto pony --

Year7: With Mona growing up so fast and soon to be starting nursery on a more full-time basis, Rosa talks to Arthur about having another child, after talking for a bit they... Well, you know. And soon child #3 is on the way! They decide to keep the gender a surprise, and nine months later welcome their first son into the family. The boy has wavy blonde hair (no idea where the blonde came from!) and hazel eyes, his name is Elijah Roland McGee.

Baby McGee arrives with wavy red hair and blue eyes, they call her Ember Theresa.

Year10: Rosa is not happy when Arthur excepts his job to go back to Libya, leaving her with four children, she is even less happy when she gets a similar call that she did eight years ago. Instead of flying over, Rosa video-calls Arthur and sees him with a tiny baby in his arms, he tells her with tears in his eyes that he took her from a desperate, starving woman who already had four children whose husband had recently been killed. Arthur is gone for four months. When he returns he does so with the baby girl, now officially a McGee. Her name is Hope Titrit and like her oldest sister she has wavy black hair and brown eyes.
