I had a teacher in secondary school with this name - not that we called our teachers by their first names - but I never thought it suited her. She was always really enthusiastic, to the point where she annoyed everyone, and I feel that Tara is... Cold, somehow.
I find Cara to be friendlier, and Clara more still.
