[Facts] Joringel
This is another fairy tale name that I'm trying to find the meaning of. It appears in the Grimms' story Jorinda and Joringel. I'm wondering if anyone has the meaning for this name.

It's more than likely that the name "Joringel" (a boys name) is
the diminutive of "Jorin" (cf. Gretel for Margarete)
Jorin is a Frisian form of the
old German name "Eberwin" which means "friend of the boar"
so in Joringels case it would be "little friend of the boar".
