[Opinions] Vivica?
I've heard this name before, but never given it much thought. However, I was looking through old posts for Beth ideas and came across Viveka. I somewhat prefer Vivica, as the "ica" ending is in my name as well. WDYT of Vivica? Combo ideas? I might prefer to use it in the mn spot, but I'm interested in seeing it anywhere. Also, what about Beth? I've started to truly love this name, but I don't like it as a full name. I'd prefer it as a nn. I was thinking about Elizabeth, and I really want to like it, but its just so lackluster to me. Any other Beth names?

I've often wondered why this name has not become more popular, especially with the increased popularity of Vivian / Vivienne. I much prefer the Viveca / Viveka spelling, but I can see why you prefer the "-ica" ending. By the way, any news of Alfie? :-)

Vivica is quite lively and attractive, and Vivi is a pleasant nn.Beth ... just as Megan is a Welsh diminutive version of Margaret, so they also use Bethan (and Betsan) for Elizabeth. I far prefer Bethan to dreary Bethany!

I love Vivica (this spelling, definitely). It's different without being too wacky, but because of that I think it should be paired with a short, sweet, classic name: Vivica Mary, Vivica Joy, Vivica Beth. I like Beth as a mn or nn, but I agree that it's not very substantial as a first name. It could be short for the many variants of Elizabeth (Elisabeth, Elisabetta, Lizbeth, etc.), or Bethany, Bettina, or Marybeth.

Vivica is not my style. It's not very smooth to say and sounds kind of like a company name, like an electronics company in the eighties that got bought out by Sony or something.Beth is okay but nothing special. Elizabeth is all right but very dull, duller than Beth. How about Bethany for a full name? My best friend from Oklahoma is Bethany, though she's never gone by Beth. There was a Bethany who went by Beth in high school here.
And I once shared an apartment with a Beth whose name was just Beth. Beth Anne, I think. AKA Sinus Beth according to my husband, because she was always snotty and congested-sounding.

I love Vivica. I far prefer that spelling to Viveka. I love most girls' names that start with V. I like Vivien, but Vivica has the same vibe but is more sprightly.Beth--meh. My parents considered naming me Elizabeth and calling me Beth. Overall, I think, I'm glad they didn't, because though I think I would have liked having an old, classic (though overused) name, Beth is unbearably clunky to me.

I think it's sort of lame. It sounds like a spice, and a bit outmoded.
