UN: Helena
P1: Kathleen Zhou (36)
P2: Tucker Jayden Williams (25)
DS: Rémi Surya Zhou-Williams (nb)
Not afraid of whirlwind changes, Kathleen and Tucker quickly decide they want to have a child together. Kathleen immediately becomes pregnant. Nine months later, a year to the day after she left NYC, Kathleen gives birth to a baby boy.
It came as a major surprise to Kathleen and Tucker to discover they were expecting so early into their relationship, but when they already feel like they've known each other forever, real time is hardly an issue. Perhaps as a passive-aggressive act of rebellion against her strict parents, Kathleen turned Tucker down when he proposed to her, saying she didn't want to get married just because they were going to have a baby together. In some sort of cosmic high-five, their son Rémi Surya was born exactly a year after Kathleen left her old life behind in NYC. Surely this means they're on the right track, right?
Unfortunately, not everything is a walk in the park. Throughout Kathleen's pregnancy, Tucker increasingly complained of stiff and inflamed joints, to the point where he had to cancel a few of his early morning yoga classes. This, coupled with a persistent nodule in the elbow, had him fearing the worst, and despite his healthy lifestyle, Tucker knew it was time to see a good doctor. It turned out he had developed rheumatoid arthritis, which, while not the optimal diagnosis, was still miles better than the cancer Tucker had thought he had.
Tucker is now taking anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs, and he knows they'll be his best friends for life. According to the doctor, he should continue to do yoga to help with overall mobility and physical function, so now that the pain and stiffness are well-managed, he has gone back to work with no limitations. Due to his illness, Tucker feels grateful for every dirty nappy he has to change, because it it means he still has the motor ability to do so.
