Though Linnea and Damien had hoped to wait a little longer before another child, they have no complaints when Linnea is pregnant again. The family take a visit to Damien's side of the family, to share the news, and Damien's beloved Great Aunt Hortensia offers them a large sum of money to name their daughter after her. The couple gently decline, having already chosen a name, and neither one particularly wanting the girl to be teased for her name in school. Damien also admits that he wouldn't feel comfortable accepting that sum of money from his great aunt. They make it up to Hortensia by taking her out to lunch, and discussing other baby matters with her. By the end of the meal, Hortensia has decided that if she can't pass her name on, she can give the child another gift. She begins planning a baby blanket, unbeknownst to Linnea and Damien.
When Rosalie Juliet is born, her parents are presented with the beautiful blanket, and Hortensia is the first to hold her, besides the baby's parents.
Shortly after Rosalie's birth, Damien is offered an incredible opportunity. A hotel in Cornwall has recently come onto the market, and the owners were family friends. They are giving Damien the first chance, at a very reduced price. The only issue is that the family will have to move from Cambridge to get there. Though Linnea is hesitant about the idea, she agrees, as all of the children are young enough to have not started school. It takes a long weekend of traveling and unpacking, but the hotel is beautiful, and has the kind of grounds and garden that Linnea has dreamed about. Even so, Linnea struggles, being so far away from a support network, and having young children to take care of. While Damien does his best to offer as much support as possible, there is a great deal of work to go into the hotel, and he feels that he has to prioritise the business, at least for now.
