[Opinions] Re: sharing a name with a celebrity/famous person
In my old school there were kids called Astrid Lindgren (like the author of Pippi Longstocking), Tove Jansson (like the author of the Moomin books), Jenny Lind (famous Swedish opera singer in the 19th century) and Hamlet! But I didn't know any of them, so I don't know what they thought about their names.
I have always pitied people who have their names in famous songs. In Sweden there is an old hit song everybody knows about a "Sarah". And Sara/Sarah is common here, too. I promise you EVERY girl called Sara/h has heard it ad nauseam! Every Cecilia gets the Simon and Garfunkel song (sure, it's a lovely song, but I guess it grows old) and there are also famous songs about Anna, Johanna, Carina and several other names.
I'm glad my name is so rare there are no hit songs about it. Personally, I have to bite my tongue if I hear someone call for "Christine", so that I don't, with a whispering Phantom voice, go: "Chriiistiiiine...." ;)
