[Opinions] Re: Leslie

I don't completely loathe it, but I've never cared for it. You're right about it sounding dated, and it does sound better as a feminine name.
Leslie Taylor
Leslie Willow
Leslie Bridget
Leslie Norah
Leslie Rowan
I think Leslie sounds best when paired with a fairly modern (by that I mean it still gets used today) name that begins with a consonant. Btw, it kind of bugs me when people complain about it reminding them of the word "lesbian". I never even made the connection until a friend of mine once pointed it out to me, and I don't see why it's even a problem anyway.

I have nothing against lesbians, it's just that I don't want to automatically think of lesbians when I hear a name. It's the same as with Hannah, which always makes me think of chicken soup. There's nothing objectionable about chicken soup, I just don't want to automatically think of it when I hear a name. As far as the Hannah/chicken soup connection, it's a mystery and I don't know why I make that association, but the Leslie/lesbian connection should be very obvious, I would think. The first syllables of the the name and the word are identical---at least, they are the way that most Americans pronounce Leslie.
I agree with you! My niece has this name and some called her leso at school.
