WDYT about the name Aleksey for a boy. Its a little old fashion but I think the nn Alek is cute

One of my close friends is called Aleksey and goes by Alex. He is Russian. I think it sounds very Russian - I can't see it working on someone who doesn't have a Russian surname/heritage. (If you do, then fair enough)Alek is nice but I'd probably use it as a nickname for Alexander.

I think I like it. I'd be happy to meet a baby/kid named Aleksey. I don't really like Alek though.
