I like it. It does make me think of Dawson's Creek, but that show is long over and I don't think it'll be a huge association. Dawson gives me a charming country feel.

Its a really strong name, and not common, but not so obscure that no one would know how to pronounce it.

I don't think it's super trendy. It's trendy , sure, but not super trendy. It has a 90's feel to it, what with "Dawson's Creek" and Jack Dawson from "Titanic", but that doesn't bother me. It's still a handsome name, IMO.

I like it. If I remember correctly, I don't think it's a popular one amongst people on this site, but I think it's a cool name. I've only known one Dawson and he's 20...a pretty rare name for someone his age. It seemed to jump up drastically in popularity in the late 90's, and now it's going down again. I wouldn't consider it trendy though, since it never exceeded #136 in the US.

Horrible show. I was a little younger than the focus group but even then I hated it. My sister loved it and made me watch it all the time. Then she bought it on DVD and made me watch it more! But then she grew up and sold it because she realized the show was just a bunch of whiny brats.
