[Opinions] Aviva
I'm seriously crushing on Aviva at the moment. It sounds light and fresh, and the meaning brings to mind spring sunshine and mountains covered in alpine flowers. Craving spring at the moment, so I think thats why I'm loving it so much! Plus my first piano teacher was called Aviva, so it has a bonus musical feel and association to it for me.So WDYT of Aviva? How does it sound as a little sister to Xanthe & Sylvie? (I think I'm going to have an international sibset theme going on with my kids, names from all over the world)What nn's can you come up with for it?Do you prefer Aviva or Eirlys or Elodie? Which sounds best with Xanthe & Sylvie?TIA :)

I wouldn't use Aviva myself, but I can understands its appeal. It has an energetic vibe and seems like a spring or summer name to me.Elodie is a better fit with Xanthe and Sylvie, but Aviva and Eirlys would also work.

I agree that Aviva does sound light and fresh and I also get a nice zippy energy from it. Ava, Viv, and Vee are the nicknames that occur to me. I think Aviva fits in very nicely feel-wise with Xanthe and Sylvie but, since you ask, I do prefer the set of Xanthe, Sylvie and Elodie sound-wise. I quite like Eirlys but, for me, Elodie and Aviva both feel much nicer with Xanthe and Sylvie.

I like it - it seems lively and fresh to me too. I'd definitely choose it over Elodie or Eirlys, it's much more fun.

I've only ever known one Aviva, and she didn't have a nn as far as I know. She was very beautiful, and trained as an opera singer, so the music association lives on.I think Xanthe, Sylvie and Aviva are a wonderfully pretty, feisty group! Go for it!The only nn I can imagine would be Eve. Or Vivi, but preferably Eve!

I used it in a congrats a while back ago. At that moment, I realized that it was a great name. It's so beautiful. I think it goes fairly well with Xanthe and Sylvie. And nicknames, what about Ava, Iva, Viva, Avey, Viv ? Of the bunch I prefer Aviva with Xanthe and Sylvie. I think it gets a little too much if all three ends with -e (like Elodie) and I have no idea how to prn Eirlys.

I looooooove Aviva, but it's way too much V with Sylvie. They'd turn into Sylviva. Aviva > Elodie >>>>> Eirlys (reminds me of earwigs). I don't think any of them are perfect with Xanthe and Sylvie, though. Elodie is a bit matchy with all the -ee endings and Eirlys just seems out of left field.

It's a dia-beetus blood glucose tester. All I think about is Wilford Brimley saying diabeetus! I prefer Elodie.

Aviva is gorgeous, and also fun to say. I tend to like names with a double 'v' sound, like Vivienne and Vivica. I like it too much to use a nickname, but some possibilities are Avi, ViVi, Viv, Ava or Vee.Aviva and Xanthe are awesome together. Sylvie seems a little out of place, but I like how all three have strong sounds. Finally, I much prefer Aviva to Eirlys or Elodie.

I love Aviva it is so pretty and fresh with a bit of sexy thrown in. I grew up knowing an Aviva so I didn't really realize that it was an unusual name for a long time.I think it goes perfectly with Xanthe and Sylvie. Eirlys and Elodie also go well with Xanthe and Sylvie but I prefer Aviva because it has a similar feel to me as Xanthe and it matches well with Sylvie since they both have the v sound in them. You already have two daughters names ending in the -ee sound so I feel that you either might want to make it a theme and go with Elodie or you can decide that you want to have your next daughters name end in a different sound.Truthfully I love the look and meaning of Eirlys but I've never been fond of the sound. I love everything about Aviva and Elodie, Aviva is just more my style.

It used to be my favorite name. I still really like it, but wouldn't use it. I love the meaning, I love that it's a palindrome and it has a nice sound. I also really like Elodie. Eirlys looks funny to me and I have no idea how to pronounce it. It goes well with Xanthe and Sylvie. Xanthe and Sylvie are both lovely! The reason why Aviva isn't my favorite anymore is because to me it has started to sound like a brand name. It now reminds me of medicine and cars for some reason. Or like something people say before they drink alcohol, kind of like 'cheers' or something (I think in Switzerland they say Vivai which could be why I think so).I would choose Elodie. Elodie, Sylvie and Xanthe sound lovely together. Aviva still makes a nice middle name. Elodie Aviva is really beautiful.

The name is fine I suppose. I don't like it though. I feel the name should be accompanied with an exclamation mark. I think the name is very "loud". Avis / Ava / Avi would be nicer and softer.

The only Aviva's I've known have been Jewish. Not that it's a Jewish only name, but those are the only girl's I've ever known with the name. I think it's very pretty and goes well with your other daughter's names.
