I've always liked Sage for a girl, but never really considered it as an option for a boy until seeing someone's brother who was named Sage. (I just saw pictures of him on facebook, but the name Sage seemed to fit him, and I'd never thought I'd consider Sage to fit a boy before.)

I use it on 4chan often. Oh, that is SA-ge that is on 4chan and not the name itself. I don't mind it as a name on a girl.

I love the name Sage, but definitely prefer it for a girl. It's fine for a boy too, but I still prefer it for a girl. I was actually going to ask about this name myself, so you saved me the trouble, thanks!

Sage is one of the few names I think of as totally unisex. I'd consider it for either gender. I really like the connections it has to nature and to actual sages, as in wise people.

I've met at least 3 Sage's before but I feel like I've met more than that. The three I can remember for certain, two were boys and one was a girl. If I've met more I feel they were still around half boys and half girls with maybe slightly more of them being male. I grew up in a big city with a lot of people who love nature and then I went to college in a small city that had a lot of neo-hippies and now I'm living just outside that big city in the country. Sage is one of those names that is not out of place where I live.

I've always liked Sage for a girl or a boy. It is very unisex in my opinion but I slightly prefer it for a girl. It reminds me of Paige only I like it more because it is a plant name and a term for a wise person. I love Sage plants, they smell lovely and are a pretty color. If short names were more my style I might consider using this name for my own children, but I prefer the longer nature names like Hazel, Winter, and Ocean for a girl or Rowan and Cedar for a boy.

I like sage as a seasoning and also associate "wisdom" to the word but Sage, as a name, is one of my least favorite of this type. I do think it feels more masculine than feminine.

It seems sort of comic-booky or fantasyish, to me. Not sure why. But that's not too negative a thing.
It also makes me think of sagebrush and the West, but when it's on a girl, I wonder if it is supposed to make me think of salvia flowers or the flavor of sage herb.
The meaning 'wise' or 'wise person' is what puts me off it the most.
I'm pretty neutral to it overall but I definitely think it suits a male better.

I like Sage for both genders. It's like Taylor's modern cousin.

I must be the only one who hates Sage with the passion of a thousand burning suns. No offence, but I find it awful. That's just my personal taste.

I really like Sage, especially for a boy. It is genuinely unisex to me. I like it on a girl but it somehow feels more tawdry that way

It's always been our family tradition to have sage in our stuffing (only now it's dressing because stuffing is evil) and Grandpa always grew his own sage. Found an old Thanksgiving menu, among family records/memorabilia, from the ship Grandpa was on in WWII and it lists sage stuffing, so maybe that's where it came from.
I also know a family who roasts pistachios with the sage they grow...pretty tasty, though I wouldn't have thought of those two flavors going together before I tried it.
