[Opinions] Wylie
What do you think of the name Wylie for a girl? Just read in a book and kind of like it. Thoughts?

Sorry, but to me it sounds like a little child trying to say Rylie. I also think it sounds like wailing or "Why, Lee?"
Too close to the unattractive dictionary word to be suitable as a given name at all.
No, it's only suited for coyotes!
I like Wylie on a boy and I've always liked Riley on a boy, too. Don't care for either on a girl; same goes for Wyatt. Saw a Wyatt Jane listed in a newspaper some time back.
It's not so bad for a boy, but I definitely dislike it for a girl. Also, I think of a little kid trying to say Riley even though Wylie is a separate, legitimate name.
Oops! Wrong spot!

I think its cute for a book character (male or female), but not on a real person.
There was a female Wylie who coached the cheerleaders when I was in high school. I also graduated with a male Wylie. It's usable, but falls with Hailey/ Ashley/ etc. group of names.
Not a girls' name. Not even that great as a boy's name. Only works if your last name is Coyote.
Agree completely
As a principal, only on a boy, because it's more masculine looking/sounding to me.
But, one of my fave actors, Richard Dean Anderson, have a daughter named Wylie Quinn Annarose, they played father and daughter on an episode of "Raising Hope", so it can work on a girl too - in a way.
But first and foremost on a boy.

Oh gosh. Years and years ago for about two seconds Wylie on a girl was my absolute favorite name. Then someone pointed out the Wile E. Coyote connection and I couldn't get past it.
Now, the word 'wily' is all I can think of and it means deceitful. Not the best.

I think of Wile E. Coyote, so I don't really care for it.
