Since Jake visited his family in Prague, they have stayed in close contact: his sister even moved to New York and looks after her niece and nephews when she gets the chance. The Holmwoods have visited Prague as well, Jake loved that he could finally show Don his hometown and has never been happier.
When Rafael turned four, Don and Jake got another phone call from the adoption agency, asking them if they were ready for an addition to their family.
"Of course!" said Don and Jake who were very keen to give Sadie, Evan and Rafael another brother or sister.
"Hold your horses, before you say yes! It's triplets we're talking about!"
Don looked unsure - Sadie, Even and Rafael were the sweetest children he knew and he loved them more than anything but THREE were already quite a lot of children - could they really take on another three? Jake, on the other hand, was over the moon!
"Don, don't worry, we'll definitely be capable to take care of these babies! Aaaah, triplets, what could possible be cuter?!"
Don simply couldn't resist Jake's excitement and they said yes. The moment they laid eyes on the triplets, two boys and a girl, they knew they had made the right decision.
This adoption was quite different, though: with Sadie, Jake and Don still kept in contact with her biological mother and she had even visited them once. They also sent pictures and letters to Evan's mother every year. Rafael's mother they had no contact with, but they had spoken to her before the adoption and they had each other's numbers and addresses just in case. But with this adoption, they had no idea who the mother was, and the adoption agency had made it clear that she wanted no contact with them whatsoever. It was all very mysterious. The triplets had quite dark skin, deep brown eyes and black hair. Don guessed they were of Native American heritage, but Jake disagreed and said they looked Maori to him (he had recently started taking Maori classes online, since he was fascinated with their culture and music). Sadie, who was studying the Bible at school, said they looked like baby Jesus. As a result, they gave each of the triplets Maori (Hemi), Biblical (Avishai) and Native American (Nayeli) names. Their middle names are name of stars.
