[Opinions] Yvette or Yvonne?

I like both, but if I had to choose one, I'd pick Yvette.
I like Yvette.
I don't know, I just like the pronunciations of the name.

I was almost named Yvonne, after my mother's childhood best friend. It's a good name.
Yvette has a rather particular colouring, where I live. During political campaigns, (a few years back) Yvette was a code for conservative, quite religious, unadventurous housewives. As in,"That stand Polititian is taking won't fly with the Yvettes!"

I kinda like Yvette better, but it would depend on the ln and also the mn which would flow better.
I much prefer Yvette. It just sounds classy and sharp as opposed to Yvonne....boring.
Yvette
He met her in a French cafe
She slipped in sideways like a cat
Sidelong glances
What a wary little stray!
She sticks in his mind like that
Saying, "Avez-vous un allumette?"
With her lips wrapped around a cigarette
Yvette in English saying,
"Please have this
Little bit of instant bliss."
~Joni Mitchell, Yvette in English
But I really like Ysanne and Yvaine more.

Yvonne!
No question. I am actually really interested in what people think of this name. It is an old family name I keep flip-flopping. Some days I love it, sometimes all I see are my Meme's weird ceramic elephant collection.

Yvonne
Yvette just sounds like vet with an ee sound in front of it. It does not sound appealing to me.

definitely Yvone...
The vette ending makes Yvette sound cheap and flashy, like a little tiny plastic sports car that has terrible gas mileage, falls apart at the drop of a hat and comes in neon colors.
Yvonne is much prettier and more classy. If it was a car it would be a sleek, high-priced sports car with an engine that purrs and seats that seem to embrace you when you sit down.

I like the analogy!
And I see what you mean. Before now I had been more partial to Yvette because it was a bit softer, but lately I'm liking Yvonne more and more.
