It's a very namenerd-y name, in my opinion. That's why it's not popular in real life, because a lot of people who aren't into names find it dowdy, ugly, and "old." My mom is one of these people. I, personally, like Beatrice a lot (I like Beatrix too, just not as much as Beatrice.)

I'm not sure what you mean about it not getting love around here. I think a fair amount of people on these boards like it. I do think Beatrix is more well-liked, however, so that might be why you feel that way.
