I don't know any young Violets. I have known two grown-up ones, both black ladies (both teachers, in fact) who'd be around sixty or so now. So it seems a very old-fashioned name to me. It is definitely not popular in my area.

It's an okay name, but it seems a bit cartoonish to me. Like a very tiny cartoon girl with purple hair and magical powers and maybe a pet dragon. I find it hard to picture an ordinary young girl with this name. It's just goofy.
