[Opinions] Gregory & Cosmo

I happen to know 3 little Gregorys -- all of them age 4. I think it's cool on a little guy.
Cosmo is almost TOO cool to be used.

I don't know a Gregory under the age of about 35; most are older. I had a Catholic boyfriend once who was Gregory more often than Greg; nice enough person.
Cosmo screams 'glossy magazine', so I'd avoid it. (I'm afraid I've just thought of a sibset: Cosmo, for that reason, and Gregory Quintus, who would go by his initials.)
Gregor appeals to me much more than Gregory, and niftily references Scotland and Germany!

I love Gregory. It's in my top 5 and climbing. I would call Greg too outdated, but Gregory in full, or with a different nn like Gregor or Rory, not so much. That said, I love "mid-century" names (I could easily name a dozen children off the top 100 list of 1950), so it's possible my perception is way off base.
I like Cosmo, but I'm not crazy about some of its associations: Kramer from Seinfeld, the very pink drink, the magazine. I prefer Cosmas. Both Cosmo and Cosmas would be unusual, slightly quirky choices, but I don't think either one is too out there.
I've known a handful of Gregs/Gregorys and one elderly Cosmo.

I'd take Gregory over Cosmo but I am not really fond of either. Gregory is a nice name, nothing wrong with it really. But I grew up with enough Gregory/Greg/Greggs for it to just seem a bit tired right now for me. 100 year cycler.
Cosmo just seems a bit silly to me. A perfect name for Kramer, a fairy godfather, or a pet...but not a really life person.

Gregory is okay but not a favorite. I wouldn't really call it outdated but you definitely don't see it used much these days. All the Gregorys seem to be grown up and having kids of their own. One of my daughter's favorite storybooks was "Gregory the Terrible Eater" about a little goat who had to learn to like eating "goat food" like tin cans and tires and such.
Cosmo is just silly. Like a pet robot or something.
