I like Ellie. I think of a warmhearted girl. I prefer it as a nickname, but I think it's okay on its own. When I say them out loud, I can hear the difference, but where I live, the way people pronounce Ellie and Allie sound a lot alike, so I think that a lot of people might assume that Ellie was Allie at least around here. As a full name, I prefer Ellie to Allie.
