Five more years have gone by.
Hayley is still living in the home where she raised her kids...though now she counts an impressive twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Jamie and Jim are enjoying being grandparents now as well. Both are nearing retirement, and are looking forward to spending more time with family.

1. Lizzy and Jason's son is six, and he is very outgoing. The two of them have not had any more children. Mark seems to be more than enough for them to handle.
   
2. Chris and Angie's daughter, Emma, is 5 1/2. She and her cousin Mark spend a lot of time together, and they act more like brother and sister than cousins. Two years ago, their family had a second little girl, Kylie.
   
3. Amy and Greg had a daughter, Rose. She was joined a year later by her sister, Hazel. The girls were three and two, respectively, when they were joined by their brother, Nathan. Amy and Greg have their hands full with their little brood.
   

Annie and Robert's youngest has now left the nest, making it quiet in their house when none of the kids are visiting with their growing families.

1. Charlie and Julia were more than content with their three boys. Julia wanted a girl, but she and Charlie have been unable to get pregnant again, and they have decided that their three boys are all they want. Their eldest, Adam, starts high school next year. He is a smart kid who is definitely the protector of the family, and he takes after Charlie. Luke, 8, and John, 6, are quiet but very intelligent little boys. They are busy crafting model airplanes, building robots, and conducting science experiments.
   
2. Nicky was deployed overseas for two of the past five years. That has been difficult on his family, but Sarah has done a good job keeping them all together. Melody and Mason are great kids, even if they are a little rough around the edges sometimes.
   
3. Emma, 29, finished med school (finally) and is embarking on her journey into adulthood. She is currently in her third of five years of residency and is concentrating in neurosurgery like she always wanted to do.
   
4. Joey and Rachel opened their own business two years ago. They serve as consultants to design firms--Joey to car and machinery firms and Rachel to manufacturers of auto parts, tools, and accessories. The two of them love working from home (most days), which allows them to stay home with their energetic four-year-old, Parker.
   
5. Benji finished grad school three years ago, and was married two years ago. He and his wife, Bridgette, have a little girl who just turned 3 months old. Benji is a clinical psychologist at an outpatient mental health practice in a small city. Bridgette works as an editor for a local publishing company. She edits a wide array of novels and other written works.
   
6. Missy and Harry's little family has more than doubled in size over the past five years. The two of them have turned out to be a great match for each other. The two of them were shocked when they found out they were having twins three years ago. They were even more shocked when they found out they were expecting a second set of twins last year. The Emerys are now a family of seven, and there is never a quiet moment at their house.
   
7. Jonny, 23, recently got married to the girl of his dreams. Skylar is an outdoorsy type of person, just like Jonny. The two of them live in a cabin in the middle of the woods in Oregon, and they love it!
   
8. Aaron, 20, joined up with the US Air Force after he graduated from high school. He is in pilot school, and he wants to fly the fastest, highest, most-extreme thing the Air Force techs can think up.
   

Noah and Jana are settling into an empty nest, just like Noah's older sister. Noah took a job with a new company, and he and Jana are planning to make a move to Germany in the next few months. Noah lived a good portion of his life there, and he has wanted to return there for the past several years, but never found a good opportunity. Jana is nervous about going to the country where Noah met his first wife, but Noah assures her that she will fit in just fine.

1. Shelly, 26, studied abroad in France during her senior year, serving as a global correspondent for her school's newspaper. As a result of one of her internships, she was offered a job as a European news correspondent based in Paris, France. Shelly accepted it and moved there two years ago. She loves the French culture, and has also gotten the opportunity to travel to nearly every country in Europe as part of her job.
   
2. Adelina and Ricky were married four years ago. The two of them are doing well, though sometimes their nursing shifts make it difficult to have a steady relationship. Now, to top if off, Adelina is expecting a baby. She is due in four months, and plans to work as long as possible.
   
3. Zella, curious about her mother's side of the family, went to stay in Germany for a few months. Well, that stay turned into several years. She has not returned to the US in over three years and is, in fact, engaged to a German man she met on the U-Bahn one morning.
   
4. Morgan, 22, has not only managed to graduate with degrees in classic literature and creative writing, but has also published two novels that did fairly well for a young, unrecognized author. Morgan and his girlfriend made a snap decision to get married and had a small ceremony about a month ago (from proposal to wedding ceremony was only about a two week period). The two of them are madly in love, but Jana wonders how long it will last.
   
5. Willy, 20, works as a night-shift EMT and rents a one bedroom apartment. He likes his job and it leaves him free during the day to go hiking and exploring the woods and trails near his apartment.
   

Laurie, John, and their kids were involved in a car accident three years ago that killed Laurie and Eamon, and left Franklin a double BKA amputee. John and Jackie, while also seriously injured in the crash, have made full recoveries. John has made it his life's mission to raise awareness of and support for the needs of children with traumatic, life changing injuries. He and Franklin spend a lot of time together campaigning for recognition not only of the physical, but also emotional needs of kids like Franklin. For his part, Franklin adjusted well to his new life. He has been confined to a wheelchair for the past several years, but has still managed to figure out how to participate in all of his favorite activities. Jackie, now 19, still has a few scars from the accident. She is going to college now and plans to become a social worker.

Ode and Lorraine have welcomed their first three grandchildren in the last five years. Their son Abi has two children, and Kayin has one. Ode and Lorraine still have three kids at home as well. Laya, Lara, and Ayo are sixteen. They are all navigating their way through high school. Laya and Lara are both very academically inclined, and they plan to go to college together. Ayo, not to be outdone, is also planning to go to college, though he likes music like his older sister Kayin.

1. Abi, now 24, still lives in Africa with Enitan and his family. Abi has gained official custody of two young children, seven-year-old Chidike and two-year-old Masamba. The boys each parents who came to Enitan's clinic for help. Abi formed a connection to them, and took them in after their parents passed away due to their medical condition. Knowing that there was no one else to look after them, Abi found himself a father. He loves the boys, though it is hard for him to know how to raise them, sometimes.
   
2. Kayin, just 21, got married at the age of nineteen to a musician friend of hers. The two of them are able to travel and perform at shows and concerts together--Kayin on the violin, and Bobby on the piano. The two of them have a newborn daughter, Paisley.
   

Enitan and Olivia haven't had any more children, but the ones they have keep them busy. When Enitan isn't working in his medical clinic, he is teaching Lea to sing, playing "house" with Betsy, making paper boats with Tommy, or having tickle-fights with May. Lea, 11, wants to be a famous singer one day. She is getting voice lessons from her daddy, and she loves it. Betsy, 9, is a sweet child who likes to stay close to home. Tommy, 8, is a typical boy--all rough and tumble with a charming side that comes out every once in awhile. May, 6, is a happy child who is always smiling, laughing, and bringing joy into the family.
