AJ and Sami waited a little while before trying for a daughter, but once again they welcomed a son. And soon after Kane was born, they found out they were expecting again! It came as a surprise but they were still very happy about it. Since Luke and Carrigan were born only a year apart too, it wasn't too much of a stress to deal with having two little ones at the same time again. And since their first three boys were older when Kane and Reed were born, they were more independent and able to help out around the house a lot which made it easier.
A few years after their boys were born, one of AJ's best friends since high school, Todd Andrew Dourif, and his wife Kendra Ai-Jing Chu, who he had also been with since high school, were killed in a car accident with a drunk driver. They had two children, Lysander and Portia (Todd was an English Lit teacher and loved Shakespeare), and Sami and AJ gladly took them in. The kids were understandably very distressed and had a hard time settling in, but they knew the family quite well and Harley and Lysander were even in the same grade at school, so that made the transition a little easier. Sami and AJ's boys found it strange accommodating the grieving kids' needs, but they were really helpful with everything; the older boys are always watching out for their new adopted siblings and the younger ones have become very attached to them. It has been two years and while it was a very sad and hard change, Lysander and Portia are doing great and fit in really well with the family.
And to top off all these big changes, currently Luke and his girlfriend Jasmine just found out Jas is pregnant. They just graduated from high school and were already planning on moving in together, so they have decided to keep the baby. It was a difficult decision but they will have lots of support from their families and feel they will be able to be responsible parents for their age. Because their parents have been so supportive and understanding of them, they want to name their son after both of their fathers. (Jas's dad is named Anthony "Tony" Byron Clements.)
