[Opinions] Helena and Peter
These are my favorite names of the day. Any thoughts? Peter especially, I think he is about to take my No. 1 slot. My adoration of the name grows daily. LOVE. And Helena (HEL-ih-nuh; not so much heh-LAY-nuh) used to be my favorite name when I was 14. Now she's come back to me. I like Helena Frances a whole lot.

I love the name Peter. My Dad's name is Pete, which I don't like, but I do like Peter. I think it's really handsome and ages well.I like Helena as well, and I pronounce it the same way as you do. However, since there are two common pronounciations, then I think people would get it wrong all the time.

They are both in my top 5, I absolutely adore them both they're classic but still fresh, and both are strong names without sounding too harsh. My top combos are Peter Benjamin and Helena Felicity.

I'm in agreement with you on Peter. I think it's adorable. It moves up and down my list from number one to number three or four. Helena - eh, I like it, but I think there are prettier names out there. It looks prettier written out than pronounced.

I love Peter, and while I appreciate the demure stateliness of Helena, I prefer Helen and Helene. The two would make a dignified sibset!

I totally agree about Peter! I used it for my son without hesitation, and it's been a very good choice in every way.Helena is nice if pronounced your way ... but would it be? I love the Shakespearean echoes and the gracious elegance of it, but I also love the uncomplicated and uncontroversial Helen, and that's the version I'd use.Helen Frances is good; Helen Susannah is one that I like (Susannah is a family name).

Love 'em both. I'd use Peter for sure if it complemented my surname (Burn -- oy!). It's strong and handsome and a forever classic. I've only known one person named Helena and that's a definite win in my book. I prefer this pronunciation as well. Helena Frances is lovely.

Helena is adorable and I'd love to meet a little Helena. Peter isn't my style but it's a good classic name. Peter and Helena would make a fantastic brother/sister combo.

I love both! Peter is my brother's name so I'm a little biased, but it's served him well. HEL-eh-nah is gorgeous and definitely my favorite pronunciation.I don't care for Frances at all, but Helena Frances is a nice combo.

I like Helena, and Helena Frances is a nice combo. Peter on the other hand...I've never liked it and probably never will. I just see it as a nerdy name. I rarely see names in colors, but Peter is dirty brown. Ugly dirty brown.

Peter doesn't appeal to me all that much, but I love Helena.
