for a girl, wdyt? Would you pronounce it do-mee-NEEK or like Dominic? The only girl I know by this name pronounces it like Dominic. She's from the US. I know of another American Dominique but have never heard it pronounced. Opinions?

do-mee-NEEK, anything else would sound weird to me. I like it very much.

doh-min-NEEK or dahm-in-NEEK ... something in between.I don't like the idea of pronouncing it like Dominic. -ique does not say ICK.

It's quite a popular name where I live, with the pronounciation you give. One of my sons has a niece-by-marriage so named. (age 11.)

My best friend's name is Dominique pronounced do-mi-neek. Her mom, who's French, says it more like do-mee-neek, though.

One of my best friends (girl) name is Dominique and she pronounces it dah-min-eek. I really like her name and have never met anyone else with this name. I like it on a girl, I think Dominic is for guys. We call my friend Dom or Domi (dom-ee).
