[Opinions] Clemence
What do you think of Clemence? The only one I ever knew was Lebanese, and she pronoucned it the French way (sort of like /cleh MAHNS/)... however I'm starting to like it the plain old English way.

I adore Clemence, either pronunciation. My only fear is that in English someone will think it's pronounced like the word clemency, with an "ee" sound on the end. Clemence brings to mind a Parisian cafe street scene, or an extremely intelligent writer. But clemency brings to mind prison parole boards. Not what I want associated with a name.
So as long as pronunciation isn't an issue, I'm all for Clemence. As much as I love Clementine / Clementina, I think I love Clemence even more.

The English pronunciation sounds, especially if you're in a hurry, too much like Clement's, as in Oranges and Lemons. And the French pronunciation would be unlikely to survive for long in an unmangled state.
I far, far prefer Clemency, which is probably my favourite Virtue name.

I prefer the English pronunciation. The name is lovely and refined!
