Do modern Greeks use mytholgical names?
I never met an Apollo or an Artemis, when I lived in Greece for a year. Do they use these names? I met Niko, Sokratos, Stavros, Eleni, lots of Panagiotas and Panagiotis. Wonder if it was just the area I lived in?
DP just told me he had an Aphroditi in one of his classes, so maybe they do.

Athena is pretty and very acceptable.
Abigaia is cool but too close to Abigail (eugh) for me.
Metrodora is incredibly bamf.
Melia seems like a nickname to me.
Hera is okay. There are prettier goddess names out there. Also, Hera's not really a good namesake. She was jealous and petty and had to put up with Zeus... eh.
Apollonia is lovely.
Cleo is okay. It does seem precious and princessy and is a better cat name.
Demetria is pretty.
Euphemia is phlegmy but I still like it.
Polycarp is just... carp. Makes me think of fish and shrewish nags. No.
Timothea is lovely.
Zenon is a little too try hard, a little sci-fi-esque. I prefer Zeno anyway.
