[Opinions] Cornelia vs. Cordelia
So, awhile ago I chose Cornelia as a name for a character in a short story. I thought it was cute and spunky and classy. Now, I'm starting to like Cordelia. Dunno why, but I like it more than Cornelia. Anyway, what about you guys? Which do you like better?

They both have their own forms of charm and appeal. I personally like Cordelia better, but I have nothing against Cornelia. Cordelia just seems more lyrical and youthful.

Oh, Cordelia all the way. It's lovely.I think I use "corny" as an adjective too often to ever truly embrace Cornelia or Cornelius.

I definitely prefer Cordelia. The Corn- part of Cornelia reminds me of the words "corn" and "corny."

Cordelia is lilting, musical and Shakespearean. Cornelia is heavy and corny. I much prefer Cordelia.

Cordelia, without a doubt. I actually knew a Cordelia, the wife of a university professor. It's beautiful.
Cornelia just makes me think of corns and bunions, and invites the nickname Corny!

Funny, I was going to ask exactly the same thing! Cornelia is sweet, but Cordelia is even better. I met a Cordelia once and told her that I thought her name was gorgeous. She was apparently named after an old ghost story...?

Cornelia reminds me of corns and corned beef, I just can't get on with it. Cordelia... reminds me of corduroy trousers. Which I suppose is better. Sorry for being so simple about it, I'm just not really a fan of either name. Usually I'm not quite so literal when considering names.

much prefer CordeliaThere's the Shakespeare reference, and I think it sounds much nicer, I don't find the "corn" sound attractive.

Just what I was going to post!

Although I adore both names, I prefer Cornelia, which is less expected and more evocative of Ancient Rome.

I love Cordelia! To me (and I don't think many others share this view), Cornelia sounds a wee bit stuffy, so I'm not a huge fan of it. I think Cordelia has that spunk you are looking for in spades :-)

I like both equally. They are both great names.

I love Cordelia and like Cornelia. So Cordelia wins it for me! I love it enough to consider it for my own daughter.

I like Cornelia.

I honestly don't care a bit for either name. But if I had to choose, I'd go with Cordelia. Then you'd have the option of calling her Dee or Delia, and it doesn't have the awful 'corn' sound at the beginning!
