Valère is quite uncommon, according to INSEE - at its peak it was given to 51 boys. I've never seen it before. Valéry was much more popular, with 333 boys being given it in 1970. I think I prefer Valéry.
Valerie is lovely, however it's pronounced. I've always liked it.
