I first fell in love with this name after reading the famous author LUCY MAUD MONTGOMERY'S "KILMENY OF THE ORCHARD" I have sincenamed my own child Kilmeny. I have done research on the name. It's very hard to pinpoint the exact origin. the name is both irishand scottish. and it was the name of an early church. I love the name because not a lot of people have it. my daughter is now 13and she too loves her name. especially after reading the above mentioned book, as well as other books by this author. we are tickled pink when we do come across the name.
