I like Melanie best, by a long shot. So pretty, and not dated at all. I cannot stand Mallory, it seems dated strictly to the eighties even though I know it isn't. I picture a snobby rich girl who talks like a baby to get what she wants from Daddy.
Melody is okay but I don't like it as much as Melanie. I keep thinking there was a Muppet named Melody, because I picture her in my head, but the Muppet I'm thinking of is Prairie Dawn.
I've known several Melanies of all ages, and one Melody who is probably in her forties. I don't know a Mallory personally but a friend of a friend is named Mallory and works at my daughter's school. She'd be in her late twenties, I think.
