Bartelmes is my grandmother's maiden name. My grandma is from Germany, and is from what I know, mostly German - I believe she has some French roots, but they're from her mother's side of the family, if I remember correctly. My grandmother lived her childhood and teenaged years in Nazi-Germany, and her father had the highest pension available, apparently. (I'm not sure what his job was, however)
I was wondering, does anyone know anything about my grandmother's surname? The only thing I could find is a few bearers with the last name Bartelme that where British.
