Help[Opinions] Aureliana
What are your thoughts on Aureliana? I adore it, it's one of my favourite names, but no-one else seems to like it. Is it too frilly? Also, what do you think of Aurelian for a boy? As well as being the name of a Roman emperor, it's also an archaic word for a lepidopterist, someone who studies butterflies, which I think is a nice association.

Aureliana is way too frilly and OTT for me (five syllables). I can't imagine anyone with a name this long not getting a nn. The good news is that there are several good nn options available.

It's overkill when one could just use Aurelia.

Aureliana makes Aurelia look bad the same way Liliana corrupts Lily. I much prefer Aurelia to Aureliana. Yes, Aureliana is too frilly.
Aurelian for a boy is ok, like the French Aurelien. But it sort of sounds like an adjective, like 'oh! look at that aurelian bird!' or something. It rhymes with Australian. And Aurelia with Australia and Aureliana with Australiana. haha :)

Aurelia is frilly and pretty on it's own, you don't need the extra fluff, it just takes away from the name. Aurelian is alright, I'd save it for a middle name personally, it sounds very prince charming to me, that's why I'm hesitant.

I do find Aureliana too frilly. I absolutely love Aurelia, and would leave it at that. The extra letters at the seem unnecessary and it crosses the border into "my precious little princess" territory.
I've never been too fond of Aurelian, but I don't outright dislike it. I guess it's just because I love Aurelia so much that I could never consider Aurelian for my own kid.

How are you pronouncing it? Au-RAY-lee-ann-ah/Au-RELL-lee-ann-ah?. It does seem a bit too long.
I *love* Aurelia though. Not so much the given ow-REL-yah pron. but as au-RAY-lee-ah/au-RELL-lee-ah.
I do like Aurelian or Aurelius for a boy, there is Lee for a nn and in the comments for Aurelius someone suggested Elius.

It's pretty if you're into long and romantic and frilly. It's also a mouthful, so I prefer Aurelia.
Aurelian is long too, would require a nickname. Do you have one in mind?
