When it comes down to it, I don't think I'd ever use Petra... but I do really like it on others.
I like the lightness and contrast of Petra Cecily and Petra Felicity, Petra Dorothy is kind of cute and Petra Rose is indeed very unoriginal, but quite lovely.

I know what you mean, it's one of those names that lovely to hear being used by others but not one I've ever considered seriously myself. At this time I'm a few years away from even thinking about having kids so I thought recently since I've always like Petra that I'd add it to my top 10 and see if it grows on me a bit more.
