[Opinions] Melody
This was one of my favorites a few years ago and I'm just starting to like it again. What do you think of Melody? Is it dated? I've heard of a few who were all born in the 60s.How do you imagine a Melody or her parents? Have you met one?

I really like Melody. I don't see it as being dated to any specific decade.

Most of the Melodys I've known would have been born in the 60s or 70s and 1 I know was born in the 80s. It was never overused, so it wouldn't feel super-dated. It's a nice name and I'd be happy to see a few little ones around. Much preferable to more Madelines and Sophias.

I love Melody - although I go mainly for names with history behind them, this is my favourite of a group of fairly modern names I really like, the others being Jasmine and Saffron and Amber
The wife of a Facebook friend of mine is called Melody and there was a Melody in my year at college.
I also think of Melody Thomas Scott, the Y&R actress, though to me Melody is a brunette.
Melody is a beautiful and quite refined name - I'd think of the parents as music lovers who made a sweet and gentle choice.
If I used it I'd pair it with a classic traditional name.

I quite like Melody. I much prefer it to other Mel- names (Melanie, Melissa...) and I don't find it dated - I don't know anyone called Melody.

It's not bad, but I see no reason for Melody when Melanie is available. I've never known one. I would imagine the parents of a Melody to be classical music lovers. When I hear the name, I can only think of the actress who plays Nikki on "The Young and the Restless", because she's the only person with the name that I've ever heard of.

I love Melody, and I don't think it's dated. I've met maybe two women with the name, and neither of them were old.

I love it. I've never met a real Melody but I wouldn't image it being someone born in the 60s. I think more 80s or 90s.
