does anybody know any good german names? so far i have come up with

Well, while Emmerich still lives on as a surname, it's all but extinct as a given name in Germany. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that many people, especially those who are not interested in names, probably won't even recognize it as a first name. I don't know if that's important to you or not, so I'm just saying ;-)
Gregor and Leo are lovely choices, in my humble opinion.

If you look at the very beginning of the site, where it says,"Behind The Name" with purple back-ground, and gothic-type lettering, you'll see where you can find lists of names from different languages, including German.
