Help[Opinions] I need help with a nickname!
I need help with spelling a nickname for Jerusha. I like "Rue", but I'm afraid people will automatically think of "The Hunger Games". I like "Roo" but I think that looks too babyish. I think "Ru" looks too Chinese or Japanese. I need this to be a nickname she can write on her papers and stuff when she gets older. I'll make a poll for it, so please vote! Add comments below!

I think it would be fine to use Rue. It looks the best to me. I don't think that it's too heavily tied to "The Hunger Games." It will be no big deal.

I don't pay any attention to the Hunger Games and all I've heard about that is Peeta and Katniss. I wouldn't associate Rue with it at all. I can't think of any other way to spell it you haven't already thought of. Rou, doesn't really seem to make sense. You could use Rusha, Rush, Jerry, but I agree none of those are as nice as Rue. I'd just use Rue.

I know a kid nicknamed Roo! Dunno how it worked in elementary school, but no one gives him crap for it now.

I've also seen it spelled Jere.

Just go with Rue. It has a much longer history than the Hunger Games....

What about Rusha, or Jeru? Those are kind of cute, but not TOO cute.

I really love Rue and I don't think it will be forever associated with the Hunger Games. She's only in the first book/movie. Not the way Katniss, Peeta or Haymitch will be at least. If the spelling really bothers you though what about Rou?
