2012 – Australia’s leading literary couple weds. Writer Ian Lovell marries fellow writer Erica Witherspoon. That was the headline the day we were married June 2, 2012. My name is Erica Samantha Sidney and I am a romance novelist from Sydney, Australia. This year I wed my boyfriend of 5 years Ian Lovell Sidney (whose pen name is Ian Lovell) a mystery writer. We have been living and writing mainly in our penthouse in Sydney though we honeymooned to Jamaica. Right now it is the two of us and our parrot Auden. We have been so happy these past 6 married months and we cannot wait to live and write together for the rest of our lives and hopefully bring a few little writers into the world very soon. Even though we are very young, I am 19 and Ian is 21.
2013 – We had a spectacular year as Mr. and Mrs. Sidney. We both are working on new books and we got a small pygmy goat from a friend. It’s a strange pet to have in a penthouse but we absolutely adore Gaius.
2014 – We decided that we would love to have a child and we would benefit from adopting. Therefore we adopted a newborn baby boy from Kazakhstan. We named him Quinlan James and so far we have loved every minute of parenting our precious little boy.
2015 – One day while taking Quin for a walk by the water we spotted a small turtle. Ian picked it up and showed Quin who very interested. We decided we would take the turtle home and give him to Quin who named him Gore.
2016 – Quin stayed with my parents while Ian and I took what was supposed to be a peaceful trip to Brazil. However I became so sick by the time we landed. I had never been air sick before. We spent three days there but I spent most of the time vomiting. A week later I missed my period and took a pregnancy test. Looks like Quin will be a big brother next year.
2017 – The year we welcomed our son. May 14th I had the most awful pains and knew it was time for our baby to be born. We left Quin with Ian’s parents and went to the hospital. After 7 ½ hours our curly brown haired, hazel eyed baby Urban Xavier was born weighing a whopping 10lbs 6oz.
2018 – With so much of my time spent with my boys I had little time for myself so Ian suggested I take a photography class. I loved the class and took wonderful pictures of my boys.
2019 – This year we decided that they boys were old enough to enjoy a trip to Disney. They were thrilled and loved meeting all the characters.
2020 – In January I started noticing the signs and found out I was pregnant again. Ian and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. We love our children. On August 20th we welcomed our first daughter into the world. Valentina Zoey has shockingly black curls and Ian’s beautiful green eyes. She was born weighing 8lbs 12oz and her labor was even shorter and easier than Urban’s only lasting 4 hours.
2021 – We adopt a stray kitten we find. He is orange and white and the children have named him Ludwig.
2022 – Quinlan decides he would like to start horseback riding so we take him to lessons and he is getting very good at it. We have gotten him a horse to keep at the stable. A tame black and white mare named Ysabel.
2023 – Thinking about the joy adoption has brought us we decide to pursue it once more. We traveled to Ethiopia and spent time in an orphanage there where we fell in love with 11 year old identical twins named Asha and Desta. They are the oldest children at the orphanage and since they are twins and older there is very little interest in them. They fear they will never be adopted and will be married off in the next 2 or 3 years so the orphanage can get rid of them. Their story is heartbreaking and we absolutely must bring them home with us. We bring them home on November 7th. Three weeks earlier I discovered I was once again pregnant. We moved to a bigger home in preparation of bringing 3 new children home but on November 8th we found out we will be bringing home another set of twins.
2024 – June 1st I gave birth to two healthy baby boys that are completely identical with my wavy blond hair and brown eyes. Baby A is Rudyard Abram and baby B is Ismael Jory. In September I went to the Blood Drive and when they took my blood they asked me if I knew I was pregnant. I didn’t! I said that can’t be, I just had twins 3 months ago, I’m breast feeding. My hormones haven’t balanced out yet. It kept nagging at me though so I went to my doctor and turns out I was pregnant.
2025 – On the day my twin boys turned one we had a small party because I was about ready to give birth again. I was cutting the boys cake when my water broke. Exactly one year later I was in the same labor and delivery room giving birth once again. The boys share a birthday with their new little brother curly brown haired, green eyed Winston Carlson.
2026 – While our hands are full we decided to add one more. We adopted a newborn girl from the Philippines. We named her Charlotte Corinne. At this time Asha and Desta decided they wanted middle names like the other children. We agreed and together decided on legally adding the middle names Ophelia and Rosalind – Asha Ophelia and Desta Rosalind.
2027 – I must be fertile and crazy. This year we had our 9th child and 5th biological. Orion Yale has straight brown hair and hazel eyes.
2028 – (Seriously I keep rolling 8 and 2). Very quickly after Orion was born the Sidney family welcomed another. This time a wavy black haired, green eyed girl named Daisy Valeria.
2029 – Not even joking. When Daisy was 5 months old I found out I was pregnant again. A curly red haired, hazel eyed boy named Javed Yannick was born weighing 6lbs 12oz.
2030 – My beloved grandfather passed away from pancreatic cancer this year. I am devastated but knew it was coming. The kids are very upset and miss papa very much.
2031 – When we got pregnant shortly after my grandfather’s death we decided we would name the baby after him. His name was Joseph Aleks. We named our curly red haired, hazel eyed newborn girl Josephine Alice.
2032 – We attend a family reunion.
2033 – We find another small turtle the children bring home and name Lionel.
