[Opinions] Ambrose WDYT?
I brought up Ambrose on another board but thought I would ask for opinions here as well. What do you think of Ambrose? My husband prefers Ambroise because most of our family would be more familiar with this version (and probably more accepting).Right now I like the combo Ulysse Ambrose but Im not sure how well received Ulysse/Ulysses is either. Not expecting, just curious!

Ambrose is a great name! I like it a lot. :) As a first name, I think the nickname Amby is cute. As a middle name, it's very versatile!Ulysses Ambrose or Ambrose Ulysses are amazing combos!

I think Ambrose is delightful. A handsome scholar! I've never seen Ambroise and it strikes me as strange. Are you pronouncing them the same way?

pronunciation of AmbroiseIts not prn the same, you can listen to it here since Im not very good at phonetic prns. For what it's worth I prefer Ambrose but if it's in the middle I might compromise.http://www.forvo.com/word/ambroise_thomas/#fr

I love it! It's a very calm, mature feeling name. Makes me think of monks. And it's got a pretty rosy red in it along a nice blue. I like the colors.Ulysse Ambrose is rather fancy. It's nice, but I like Ambrose with something more earthy. Or Latin.

I like Ambrose. It's sort of quiet and cerebral, with sort of a tweedy feel, like a professor. I prefer Ambrose over Ambroise, but if Ambroise is a better fit for you, there's nothing wrong with it. I don't like Ulysse/Ulysses at all, so I'd prefer Ambrose Ulysse or Ambroise Ulysse.
