Jane. Jane is like Anne, put it in the middle spot and it does absolutely nothing for me. Sure, it can seem a bit bland and short for a first name, but then I think of the history behind these names.
In Jane's case I think of Jane Grey, the Nine Days Queen, or Jane Austen. Jane Goodall. Jane Russell.
Also Jane Bennett and Jane Eyre from literature.
When I think of these women, suddenly Jane isn't so plain anymore.
