[Opinions] Moses
What do you think of it?

I rather like it.
Haters gonna hate [m]
I think Moses is due for a big resurgence myself... after all, it's not like it's Josephus or Methuselah. The sound is simple enough and won't be mispronounced, and I think it's just dusty enough to have a sort of old people glamour to it, like Hester or Jedidiah.

It's ok. I prefer Moishe though.
I LOVE the name Moses and would consider using it if we had another DS.
Love it. It is on my list for future boys.
Love Moses! :D
After wandering in a desert for 100 years, I've determined that it's foolish to name a kid Moses.
LOL
I can't imagine it on a real person. I picture a guy with a big beard holding stone tablets.
Well, there was once a real person with that name holding stone tablets... though they may have been a different size and type of stone.
I couldn't use Moss as a name... My friends in B.C. would automatically associate it with the green stuff that grows on trees and rocks and pretty much anywhere else it can grab on and stay a while.
Yeah ... I'm in WA and that would possibly be worth a laugh here too. Although I like the way the name sounds, and I like moss and think it's pretty and interesting ... it does become a pest in the lawn, on the roof, and everywhere else. Nobody around here would be able to help thinking of it that way.
I love the name Moses and would use it. I like the way it sounds. I also like that it is an "even" name, meaning no letters extend above or below the others.
I especially like it, and would use it, as a middle name. My combo then is Dashiell Moses. Very handsome, if you ask me. :)
Hm... I went to school with a Moses. I'll say he's between 22 and 24. He was a pretty awesome guy.
So, really, I'm all for it.

I like it, BUT I would never use it.I'm an atheist, and even if I weren't I wouldn't use it. It's just too biblical, but it would be great as a MN.
I think...
...I would like it if I could call him Moe or Mose.
Full-on Moses, though? A little too serious for me. No me gusta.

Moe really reminds me of the bar owner in the Simpsons.
I love Moe. He's my favorite character.
I like him too
But wouldn't want to name my kid after him :)

Oh, me neither, but he is awesome. :)
Moe is lonely...
Without his friends Lary and Curly.

OT: Why does everybody forget...?
... about Shemp?
Seriously, he was just as funny - if not, at times, funnier - than Curly! But people seem to write him off. I mean, it's not like he was the Joe guy (who was terrible), he was hysterical.

My favorite will always be Larry. Don't ask me why, because I'm not sure.
I've met two Moes in my life...
...and neither of them had that problem. Sure, someone might crack the lame joke every great once in a while, but they would just laugh it off, and people would get over it.

I've only met one Moe...
He was a very nice black Lab guide dog.

The one Moe I know....
Is a guinea pig with cow licks all throughout his hair :P

The two Moes I met were young. I never asked if it was a nickname for anything.
Moses supposes his toeses are roses...
But Moses supposes erroneously. That's from "Singin' in the Rain."
No, I don't like Moses. It seems so dated. I picture Moses as having died around 1940, age 100, former slave in Mississippi somewhere. I can't picture a Moses giving the weather forecast, teaching phys ed, flying a commercial airliner, playing Little League, or going to the prom or any of the ordinary things ordinary people do today.

You beat me to it!
But Moses he knowses his toeses aren't roses as Moses supposes his toeses to be.
Also I pretty much agree with your thoughts on Moses. It's also just too... the name of only one guy. Too much for anyone else.

Well yeah, a lot of Biblical people weren't actually called the English names we use for them because they didn't speak English. But that doesn't make me not attatch the name solely to that Biblical person.
I actually quite like Moishe. It seems more usable. Probably because I've never called Moses Moishe. :P

I thought of the same thing from Singin' in the Rain. LOL
